If you think your dry hair is hopeless, don’t despair! Studio 6 has tips to help you make your hair looking healthy and soft again.
- Shampoo with Oribe’s Gold Lust Shampoo. It has lots of essentials oils to soften and repair the hair. Shampoo, rinse, repeat. Yes, you do need to repeat to get your hair truly clean. This is a quality product that can be used daily along with the Gold Lust Conditioner.
- Condition every time with Gold Lust Conditioner. The shampoo and conditioner are meant to work together – don’t skip either one. (Forget the “No-poo” trend. That’s a good way to get fungus on your scalp!)
- If your hair is dry, take a good look at the products you are using. If your shampoo and conditioner are not right for your hair type, they aren’t helping. Of course, curly hair and gray hair are a bit dryer than the other types. Ease up on the hair styling tools and appliances –overuse will dry out your hair even more. Basically, if your hair is dry, it is because of what you are doing to it.
- Apply a leave-in conditioner after you leave the shower. I Oribe’s Supershine Moisturizing Cream or the Supershine Light Moisturizing Cream (for fine hair). Remember – just a little dab will do ya! Comb through to distribute evenly.
- Comb your hair with a wide tooth comb when wet. Leonor Greyl has a great crystal clear one. greyl.com
- Protect your hair from the heat of the dryer with a dab of Oribe Balm d’Or Heat Styling Shield. Must protect, protect, protect! Don’t want to undo what we have just accomplished.
- Time to style. Natural is always best. If you must use a dryer, use a Dyson on setting #1.
- While you are rebuilding your dry hair to dream hair, use a masque twice a week in the beginning. My favorite masque for severely damaged dry hair is MASQUE QUINTESSENCE by Leonor Greyl. greyl.com Apply to dry hair, work it through the hair and leave it on for 30 minutes then rinse (do not shampoo).
- For overnight hair care, Rene Furterer’s Karite Nutri gives you intense treatment while you sleep. Use a satin pillowcase so that your hair will slip and slide easily across the pillow as you move around. Sweet dreams.
- Remember to get your haircut regularly. Those damaged ends really are beyond repair.
